ELIZABETH TAYLOR - A BEAUTIFUL ICON
A true Hollywood legend passed away on March 24th and will never lose her place in history thanks to her iconic beauty and individual use of an eyebrow pencil! Elizabeth Taylor was known for many things, but none more than her beautiful angelic face and diva attitude. In tribute to Liz, here are three of her most iconic pictures and tips on how to re-create the Hollywood glamour at home.

Ms Taylor sure knew how to frame her face and project youth, even in her later years, through her amazingly sculpted eyebrows. Those two hairy caterpillars on the top of your face can make such a difference if they’re arched correctly and drawn in (subtly) to make them look full. As you age your eyebrows thin, so the easiest way to cut ten years off your birth date is just to primp them to perfection. This eyebrow kit from Benefit is all you need to get the perfect brows – shadows, creams, highlighters and even a mini tweezer and liner.

Black eyeliner was a staple in Elizabeth’s bag whether she was subtly creating a frame for her beautiful lilac eyes, or going all out in Cleopatra with some fabulous dramatic make-up. If you get your hands on a soft khol you can create whatever look you wish, as the pencil will blend and smoothly work around the eye area. Try this one from NARS which is also fantastic at staying put all day long.

Finally, to finish off that look you need a fabulous red lipstick that will never go out of style. Liz was never seen without her lippie, because she knew glamour was all about knowing what suits you. There’s a red for everyone and the shades available from Lord & Berry are much more wearable if you’re fearful of a dramatic lip look. The key is to keep the eyes subtle so the focus in on the lip and outline the upper and lower lips before you fill them in.

KIDS COMPANY CHARITY
We are very proud to announce that we have officially teamed up with the Kids Company Charity.

HIGH-FASHION SOCIETY.COM will be supporting the Kids Company Charity on a long term basis and helping to raise money to support vulnerable inner city children across London.

The Kids Company Charity was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996, her amazing work has helped see that over 14000 vulnerable and deprived children across London receive the practical, emotional and educational support they deserve when the roles  of adult and child are reversed.

We chose Kids Company because we believe Children are blessings and our future, every child deserves the right to a happy and loving upbringing. No child derserves to be subjected to suffering or to be deprived of love, attention or an education. We want to be a part of helping make a positive difference to those less fortunate children in our community.

Being a London based company we wanted to start our Charity work at home and support a London Based Charity.

The Empire Awards 2011
Earlier this week the stars were out once again in celebration of the Empire awards... does the season of star-spangled award ceremonies never end? (We don’t mind, it means more dresses to eye up!) A little bit more low-key than some of the events recently, this meant the outfits were more wearable and the make-up and hair more achievable.

People’s favourite Kiera Knightley won the ‘Hero’ award while donning this sparkly nude Rodarte number. Although a little too frilly and fussy for me, she rocks this look with simple make-up and a sultry russled hair do. She could probably look good in a sack.

Dermot O’Leary had the best accessory of the night – a pretty hot girlfriend. She had a hot accessory herself in the form of a Classic Chanel 2.55 bag, matched perfectly to her bold red lips. I love her dress too which is classic, while still being a bit edgy. She clearly knows what suits her and plays it safe so not to upstage her man.

Lily Cole looked smoking in this bright yellow Prada number. One of the key colours for the season, instead of washing out her pale skin it makes her stand out from the crowd and reinstate her fashion credentials. I love her cute styled hair too... That sparkly band makes her less ‘showgirl’ and more ‘boho’ and the dark shade suits her so much better than her natural red hair.

Newly engaged Sarah Harding channelled the one-shouldered trend with this ruffled beauty. A little bit of lace, a little bit of velvet, a lot of fake tan and a slick of red lipstick... Who said blondes have more fun? She’s clearly embracing her darker hair colour and going for something a little classier than her usual backless bright number and I like it.
